The latest Zhangmen version is version 2012 for Windows 8/7, Vista (and XP) or Apple MacOS using f.e. Paralles desktop (release date Januari 2012). Zhangmen first started in 1992 as a DOS software package. In 1999 Zhangmen software for the modern acupuncturist became available for the Windows platform. We've launched the internet enabled 9i 32-bit version in 2003 which was a major step forward in accessing webbased acupuncture databases. Below you'll see some screen-shots of the last English version of Zhangmen e.g. Zhangmen 2012 for Windows. This version is very much improved and has been optimized for Windows 7. From now on you'll be able to optimize your acupuncture diagnostics and therapy while using Zhangmen for Windows. Here are some features of the new Zhangmen:
Windows 8 optimized : Zhangmen is optimized for Windows 8,7, Vista (and XP). Note: Earlier Zhangmen versions are not W7 compliant.
Search Functions : Are very easy to use. You can quickly search for all kinds of different TCM items
WHO Nomenclature : The new Zhangmen version uses the standard W.H.O. acupuncture channele and pointnames
Locations : Find point locations (also modern points) and jump from one point to the next or previous. Print them if you want to.
More Data : You now have the possibility of accessing far more knowledge then before in a short times notice
Ease of use : You learn using the interface very quickly because 'it's all windows'
Printing : You can print everything you'll find by just pushing a button and store it elsewhere or give it to your patients
Graphics : Zhangmen uses dozens of photo's and graphics and dozens of 40 tables. These can all be printed
Herbs : NEW: All info on Herbal TCM including formula and single herb information (materia medica etc.)
Chinese Characters : Shows chinese characters online with every pointname
Needling Techniques : Gives a proposed needling technique with every point found
Keyword system : Zhangmen uses a keyword system that makes it virtually impossible to make mistakes when entering data
Chinese names : Chinese pointnames (Pin Yin) are always visible and the meaning of the names can be easily found
Administration : Simple patient administration is very easy with Zhangmen (used points, questions, notes, invoices etc)
Adding own data : You can add your own information (PRO-version only) to the databases using the Data Module
Internet : Access to hundreds of TCM databases all over the world (provided that you have an internet connection of course)

What are the minimal system requirements for Zhangmen?
  • Windows 8 / 7 / VISTA / XP / 2003 (or Apple MacOS using f.e. Paralles desktop)
  • 512 mB Internal Memory
  • 250 mB Free harddisk space
  • CD-Rom or DVD-rom player
  • Videocard 1024-768 with 16 bit color or better 
  • Preferably an Internet connection (best is a broadband connection but this is not strictly necessary)
