INDICATIONS AND LOCATIONS:
Zhangmen uses data that have been collected from all the well-known international acupuncture literature. Both the classical and the new points (new and miscellaneous points) with their indications and anatomical location are available within the package. You can also look up all details about T.C.M. disease patterns like symptoms, causes, accompanying pulse and tongue patterns and treatment. Channel pathology and extraordinary channel pathology is of course also available. You can search for patterns as well as symptoms.

LOTS OF NEW FEATURES:
Version 2010 for Windows has been fully renewed, is Windows XP, VISTA and W7 compatible and has many new features compared to earlier versions of the software. The main new features, besides the Vista compatibility are the new herbal databases, case studies and of course the possiblitity to access far more acupuncture databases by the Internet then in earlier versions. Think of databases and websites containing info on 'open points', forums, TCM organisations, pulse and tongue diagnostics, drugs, herbs, student information, nutrition etc. etc. Also search functions and Pulse and Tongue diagnostics have been expanded and needling techniques per point have been added. A backup function for patient data is now incorporated in the Zhangmen software and you can get free updates simply by automated internet auto-update functions. Zhangmen uses dozens of diagrams, diagnostic graphics and pictures to show you the found data in an easy and beautiful way. In the package you'll find pictures on nutrition, alarm points, channel course, nose-, facial- and hand acupuncture, ear acupuncture, anatomy etc. .
You'll also find diagrams on needling techniques, special points and channels, 5 elements, pregnancy, nutrition, herbs etc. These illustrations and diagrams make Zhangmen, besides a joy to work with, also a very beautiful program. Ear acupuncture is an important item within the package with a lot of drawings and diagrams. All the found data can also be printed.

HERBAL DATABASES:
Zhangmen now contains several TCM Herb databases with single herb data and TCM herbal formula. When searching the single herb database you can search and filter every herb for:

* the Latin/ Western name
* Picture of the herb
* Actions, taste, materia medica, contra-indications
* and other features

When searching the herbal formula database you can search every formula for:

HELP FUNCTION AND ADMINISTRATION:
Zhangmen uses a built-in Help function with which you can ask the program itself for help. Besides that a compact administration program is used to keep track of your treatments and important patient data. It's also possible to print some standard forms to help your practice (invoices, anamneses forms etc.). An electronic diary is also available in the package. The administration part however is only useful for small practices. Zhangmen is mainly an acupuncture knowledgebase and not primarely ment as an administration tool.

EXAMPLE:
An example of the Zhangmen search functions. You are looking for points to use for eczema on the legs. You enter the keywords 'eczema' and 'legs' and on screen you see a therapeutic proposal to use for this complaint amongst other points ST44 and M-Le19 (Miscellaneous point of the lower extremity). It's also possible to work the other way round. You enter ST44 and you'll see all the indications this point can be used for and it's anatomical location (also a picture of it). When you click on the website button you'll even get extra info on the found points from the internet or look for herbs to use for this symptoms. It can't be done quicker can it?

SIMPLE AND SAFE:
Zhangmen is, as you probably know, the Chinese name for Liver 13. It means 'System's door'. A door should have a low threshold is our philosophy. That's why we've spent so much energy in making this package cheap and simple to use. Zhangmen is also easy to use for acupuncturists with limited knowledge of computers. It's easy to install and has a very good price / performance ratio compared to other acupuncture software. Zhangmen has very low system requirements so you can run the software even on your 'old' computer.
